'...house sized rocks resting like butterflies in the valley...ihlara'

The ‘Ihlara’ series of five pieces celebrate the beauty of the valley
of the same name in Kapadokya, Turkey, where I walked in April 15 years ago.

There were few people about, and the rocks, some as big as houses, tumbled into my memory, much as they seemed still to be in movement though they were quite still. The trees were lightly-leaved slender chartreuse.

In contrast, Acqua (now available at Kina Gallery) and Transcience bounced off the feeling of the little river running through the Ihlara valley.
