When Time Pretends To Stand Still
Mixed media on canvas 76 x 76 cm |
My work is increasingly caught up in what we are doing here on this planet to mess things up or how we get messed up. There are eighty one paintings so far on the pandemic theme.
The selection of works here respond to chaos (Trouble In Mind); restriction and constriction (Proximity and Small Town Secrets); being confined to homes we may not be so familiar with in the rush and busy-ness of normal flows (Staying At Home); changing sound and vision scapes (Quiet Nights), massive amounts of deadly serious information (Data Overload); capitalism (House Of Cards); biology (Microcosmos lll and Bioforms lV); hospital work and workers (Long Shift In ICU); compartmentalisation of dwellings, cities, people - and graveyards (Lockdown); and of course our illusory shifting stretchy shrinking sense of time (All The Time You Need and When Time Pretends To Stand Still). A list of the other 68 paintings in the pandemic series is available at Clearview. Images may be viewed here www.solekart.com, starting with Baby’s Brand New Covid-19 Filter, up to Track And Trace, which is my latest but probably not last painting on the theme. All sales enquiries should be directed to Clearview for the duration of the exhibition. Thank you. |
