Since I was in Italy September and October 2023
I have been focused on training for new work,
at www.manawafamilyconstellations.com,
not painting at all until April this year.
I'm looking forward to
Chateau d'Orquevaux Artists' Residency
29 September - 19 October 2026.

Untitled [18 August 2025]
Acrylic paint and oil pastel on stretched canvas
102 x 102 cm
Available at Tennyson Gallery
On learning that a close friend's adult son was dying (he did, later the same day), I could go home and go to bed, or paint. I painted my grief, decades of solid friendship between women, memories of J playing with my children, sleeping in their beds; the arc of life, the unknowing, the sadness and the many great joys and delight.

Selected for Hawkes Bay Art
Review Exhibition 03 - 31 October
In a time when it was and is difficult to paint without the weight of grief
caused by witnessing the Gaza genocide
communicating and making itself known,
my feelings are a little expiated by garish colour,
lashing lines, confining spaces, anxious lines.

Above The Beach
Acrylic paint on Departmentof Lands and Survey map
100 x 70 cm approx
Selected for Hawkes Bay Art Review Exhibition 03 - 31 October
This painting is inspired by a sudden memory of an Aegean Coast beach in Turkey, known as Cucuk Akkum, or Little Akkum, near to Seferihisar, where I once lived for a year. Above the beach was a dark green forest, reached by scrambling up a hill, past rustic restaurants, and crossing a road at the top. Memories of lazy hot hours on the beach, an idyllic period in a small Turkish town, and its nearest beach.
